The Eureka Peacock, also known as the Red Jake cichlid, is a special color breed that has a reflective blue body with bright red edges. Even at two inches these peacock cichlids begin to show their true colors. In the case of Eureka Peacocks the females have similar though less vibrant color. We do not know why the name "Eureka" is applied to this extraordinary color variation, so if you have the factual story we would like to provide it on this site and reward our informant with a gift certificate.
